G-12 e outros movimentos
O Concílio dos Bispos da Igreja Metodista Livre, reunido em Butuan, Filipinas, 8-10 de outubro de 2009, em resposta às indagações sobre o movimento G-12, apresenta a seguinte declaração:
O Concílio dos Bispos reconhece que muitos movimentos contemporâneos, incluindo o G-12, têm práticas que, aparentemente, contribuem para a evangelização do mundo. Sempre que tais práticas não são contrárias à doutrina Metodista Livre, as igrejas locais podem fazer uso delas para ajudá-las a alcançar o mundo para Cristo. Ao mesmo tempo, no entanto, reconhecemos que estes movimentos, muitas vezes, incluem elementos que são questionáveis e até mesmo incompatíveis com a nossa doutrina e sistema de governo.
Lembramos a igreja que as Escrituras nos chamam para:
-sermos discípulos zelosos de Cristo que fazem discípulos (Mateus 28:19, Lucas 9:23-25);
-Nos unirmos com outros para estimularmos uns aos outros ao amor e às boas obras (Hebreus 10:24);
-sermos cheios do Espírito Santo, produzindo os frutos do Espírito e servindo no poder do Espírito (Efésios 5:18, Gálatas 5:22-23);
-relacionarmos uns com os outros em humildade e mansidão, através da prática da mútua submissão(Efésios 4:2, Romanos 12:10), e;
-exercitarmos os dons do Espírito para o cumprimento da missão de Cristo, convidando as pessoas à fé e promovendo a edificação do corpo de Cristo (Efésios 4:11-13). Cientes de que os dons e as manifestações do Espírito não são garantia de bom caráter e nem de autoridade espiritual (Mt 7.15-23).
Não recomendamos a aceitação dos ensinamentos de qualquer movimento em sua totalidade. Pelo contrário, todas as práticas e iniciativas ministeriais devem ser avaliadas pelo ensino claro das Escrituras, que nos instruem a "Examinar tudo e reter apenas o que é bom" (I Tessalonicenses 5:21).

G-12 & other Movements
The Council of Bishops of the Free Methodist Church, meeting in Butuan City, the Philippines, October 8-10, 2009, in response to inquiries about the G-12 movement, issues the following statement:
The Council of Bishops recognizes that many contemporary movements, including G-12, have practices that apparently contribute to the evangelization of the world. Where such practices are not contrary to Free Methodist doctrine, local churches may implement them to help them reach the world for Christ. At the same time, however, we recognize that these movements often include elements which are questionable and even incompatible with our doctrine and polity.
We remind the church that the Scriptures call us to:
-be earnest disciples who make disciples (Matthew 28:19, Luke 9:23-25);
-join with others to stimulate one another to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24);
-be filled with the Holy Spirit, bearing the fruit of the Spirit and serving in the power of the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18, Galatians 5:22-23);
-relate to one another in humility and gentleness, practicing mutual submission (Ephesians 4:2, Romans 12:10), and;
-exercise the gifts of the Spirit to carry out the mission of Christ, inviting people to faith and building up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13). The gifts and manifestations of the Spirit do not guarantee one’s spiritual authority or character.
We counsel against the acceptance of any movement’s teachings in their totality. Rather, all practices and ministry initiatives should be evaluated by the clear teaching of Scripture, which instructs us to, “Test everything. Hold on to the good.“ (I Thessalonians 5:21).
